Primal Elements and Power
The flow of elemental power shapes our world, and understanding these energies is key to understanding the creatures that emerged. There are six core elemental sources, each embodying a fundamental force of nature.
Sun
The Primal Sun embodies the dual nature of fiery energy and life-giving radiance. It resonates with intense emotions such as passion, rage, and a deep-seated drive for action, symbolising both the destructive force of wildfire and the nurturing warmth of daylight. Creatures aligned with the Sun wield the formidable power of solar flares, incendiary abilities, and the brilliance that can illuminate the darkest secrets.
Strengths: Sun creatures excel in vanquishing the shadows of deceit and the ephemeral forms of Moon-based entities, their light revealing truths hidden in darkness. Against the verdant resilience of Nature, the Sun's inferno can lay waste to the thickest groves, asserting dominance through purification by fire.
Weaknesses: The vast waters of the Ocean can quench the Sun's fury, diluting its power in the depths. The ever-shifting Sky can obscure and diminish the Sun's rays, challenging its authority with the freedom of the winds.

Earth
The embodiment of solidity and endurance, Primal Earth is the bedrock of physical might and resilience. Earth creatures are grounded beings, drawing their formidable strength directly from the terrain, specialising in abilities emphasising durability and raw power. This element is intrinsically linked to the virtues of resilience, fortitude, and patience, reflecting the steadfastness and unyielding nature of the ground itself.
Strengths: Earth overpowers the Moon, its solidity disrupting the Moon's illusions and ephemeral nature. It also stands firm against the turbulent forces of the Sky, grounded and unmovable against the howling winds.
Weaknesses: The encompassing waters of the Ocean can erode Earth's steadfastness, while Nature's vibrant growth and adaptability can penetrate and disrupt Earth's solid defences.
Concepts: Stability, strength, endurance, resilience, grounding, fortitude, patience, protection.
Common Forms: Stone golems, armored bears, crystal beetles, mountain apes, creatures of rock and mineral
Moon
The Primal Moon, shrouded in enigma and transformation, commands the night and the intangible realms beyond the veil of the ordinary. Moon creatures navigate the spaces between shadows and light, mastering the arts of illusion, spirit communication, and manipulating the unseen forces of death and shadows. This element delves into the mysteries of existence, challenging the perceived boundaries between reality and the ethereal, life and the afterlife. Moon-aligned creatures are ephemeral and mysterious, skilled in illusion and misdirection.
Strengths: The Moon's dominion extends over the intricate balance of Nature, its influence over death and spirits unsettling the cycle of growth and decay. Its mastery of illusions can bewilder the clarity of the Sky, confusing and misdirecting through layers of deception.
Weaknesses: The steadfast Earth grounds the Moon's ethereal wanderings in solid reality, while the radiant Sun dispels its shadows with the harsh light of truth.

Ocean
The Primal Ocean embodies the endless, ever-changing seas, a symbol of adaptability and the unfathomable depths of existence. Ocean creatures master the fluidity of water, wielding its form from mist to ice, shaping torrential rains and commanding towering waves. This element is a testament to the acceptance of change, the power of letting go, and the understanding of life's ebb and flow.
Strengths: The Ocean's vast depths can engulf the searing fires of the Sun and wear down the solid bastions of Earth.
Weaknesses: Its boundless waters are challenged by the rooted vitality of Nature and the tumultuous storms of the Sky.
Concepts: Adaptability, depth, change, flow, transformation, fluidity, renewal, healing.
Common Forms: Sea serpents, aquatic dragons, coral beasts, creatures of water and ice
Sky
The Primal Sky is the breath of the open air, the domain of freedom and the untamed winds. Sky creatures embody the essence of movement and change, controlling air currents, summoning storms, and striking with the swiftness of lightning. This element symbolises the limitless expanse of possibility, the clarity of vision, and the freedom to soar beyond boundaries.
Strengths: The Sky's clouds can obscure and diminish the light and heat of the Sun, and its winds can stir up the calm Ocean as it soars playfully above its reach, only to strike out with crackling lightning.
Weaknesses: Its carefree nature is ensnared by the Moon's illusions and grounded by the unyielding Earth.
Concepts: Freedom, agility, vision, change, movement, clarity, expansiveness.
Common Forms: Storm eagles, wind drakes, thunder tigers, cloud serpents, creatures of air and lightning
Nature
The Primal Nature is the heartbeat of the wild, embodying the unbridled force of life and the eternal cycle of renewal. Nature creatures draw from the wellspring of life's energy, manifesting in forms as diverse as the flora and fauna that populate the world. This element celebrates the interconnected dance of life, death, and rebirth, thriving in the harmonious rhythm of the natural world.
Strengths: Nature's resilience allows it to absorb and integrate the ebb and flow of the Ocean. At the same time, its inherent vitality and adaptability enable it to dig into and break through the stoic defences of Earth.
Weaknesses: The scorching flames of the Sun can wither and disrupt the lush expanses of Nature, and the Moon's mastery over spirits and the shadowy realm of death introduces a disruptive force to the cycle of life and growth.
Concepts: Growth, vitality, regeneration, interconnectedness, natural cycle, harmony, resilience, diversity.
Common Forms: Forest guardians, vine beasts, moss golems, floral creatures, beings of wood and leaf
Aether (Proposed)
Researcher's Note: The seventh element is merely a proposal by some researchers, although no evidence has yet been found to support it. Most established scholars dismiss it as wishful thinking or misidentification of rare elemental combinations.
Aether, the proposed Seventh Source, transcends the conventional elements, representing the ethereal and the unknown. It is both the source of everything and the nothingness between them. Aether creatures would manipulate the fabric of reality, exhibiting unpredictable abilities that defy the bounds of elemental magic. This element symbolises the mysteries that lie beyond the tangible, the spaces between the seen and unseen, and the infinite possibilities that reside in the unknown.
Concepts: Time, space, foresight, mystery, transcendence, reality manipulation.
Theorized Forms: Beings of pure energy, reality-warping entities, creatures that exist in multiple states simultaneously
Evidence For:
- Occasional creatures appear that don't fit any of the six elements
- Reports of impossible abilities that transcend known elemental powers
- Ancient texts hint at a "seventh source" or "void element"

- No confirmed sightings of purely Aether-aligned creatures
